INSTALLATION - The Shrine of the Miraculous Medal, Philadelphia, PA, USA |
The Shrine of the Miraculous Medal in Philadelphia, PA, had patiently dealt with lingering issues of their aging 56 rank pipe organ. Faced with the prospect of an immense
rebuild cost, the Shrine's Central Association decided to investigate other solutions. Mr. Carl Gedeik, the Shrine's principal organist, informed the Rector, Father Carl
Pieber, of the tremendous improvement a new Allen organ had made at a neighboring parish to which he is also the Music Director/Organist. The decision was made and a large comprehensive 89 Stop, Four-Manual Quantum™/Custom Allen digital organ was built and installed in the world-renowned Shrine. This instrument features a floating String Division as well as a rear-speaking solo Trumpet and Great Antiphonal. Allen's sustainable digital technology provides a large array of software tools for proper installation and voicing of the organ to better accommodate the needs and unique acoustics of the Shrine's spacious architecture. "The volume and the participation within the congregational singing was very noticeable the first day I used the organ within the services. A solemn pontifical Mass with a jam-packed church within the first week of use brought accolades from the visiting clergy, guests, and congregation!" submitted by Carl Gedeik, Organist, The Shrine of the Miraculous Medal Philadelphia, PA View The Shrine of Miraculous Medal installation page View this organ as Organ of the Week For more about this organ, click for our dealer's website Look for the Allen Organs ad showcasing this installation in the next edition of Pastoral Music magazine! |

INSTALLATION - Waterbury Congregational Church, Waterbury, Vermont, USA |
The dedication concert for Waterbury Congregational Church's new 50 Stop, Three-Manual Quantum™/Custom Allen digital organ was held on October 4, 2015.
The new Allen replaced a 100 year old pipe organ that was showing some age and in disrepair. The new Allen also has a Festival Trumpet. During an interview with local news TV station 'My Champlain Valley,' Waterbury Congregational's Pastor Peter Plagge said, "We really think it is an instrument for worship, but we also think it is an instrument that a lot of people will enjoy. So hopefully we'll have more concerts like this, and invite the public to them." View local Vermont media report of this event View all the details about this organ |

INSTALLATION - Messiah Lutheran Church, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA |
Messiah Lutheran Church in Charlotte, NC, USA, recently installed a new 58 Stop, Three-Manual Bravura L-342DK with Allen's 75th Anniversary Package. This organ has a total of 7 suites,
including Arp Schnitger and Aeolian-Skinner, and the dark walnut exterior with light curly maple interior, gives this organ a very stunning appeal. "We are absolutely loving our new Allen organ!! And while we are appreciating the wonderful depth of sound dispersed through more channels, we are still discovering the many facets of sound through the multiple suites, the acoustic options, and the MIDI additions. This instrument challenges us to be better musicians.Tremendous thanks to our Allen representative - Gus Farmer - who has guided us through the entire process. Glory to God!!" JUST GETTING STARTED! - Allen Organ provides 10 years of Concerts in Spain Cathedral |
In May 2006, Allen Organ Company installed a large, Four-Manual, 79 Stop Quantum™ digital instrument in the historic Cathedral in Valladolid, Spain.
Now, the Cathedral is celebrating 10 years of concerts and beautiful music with the release of their publication "Música en la Catedral." The comprehensive on-line interactive book showcases pictures of the Cathedral, the build and installation of the Allen organ, the "voicing" of the organ by Rudy Lucente, plus highlights from the 38 concerts that spanned the past decade! Spain's premier concert organist and Valladolid's Cathedral organist, Pilar Cabrera, has performed most of the 38 concerts. German organist Gereon Krahforst and French organist Jean-Philippe Le Trévou have participated several times to large crowds with overwhelming response. Valladolid's Cathedral is the only one in Europe that has a selection of 27 CD's, recorded with Pilar Cabrera (Allen Organ) and together with other soloists. www.catedral-valladolid.com/discos Click here to learn more about this prestigious Allen Organ installation submitted by Michael Reckling |

LETTER TO ALLEN - Trinity Lutheran Church, Nevada, Missouri, USA
Allen Organ Company is renowned for building organs that deliver superior pipe sound and unmatched longevity. Allen's tonal expertise stems from a long list of technical and artistic accomplishments beginning with its first patent granted in 1939. After decades of analog-based developments, Allen revolutionized music by introducing the world's first digital musical instrument in 1971, nearly two decades before competitors offered digital technology. Allen's product longevity results from both unparalleled initial build quality and incomparable support. Long-standing Allen customers often share accounts that might seem amazing for other products, but are par-for-the-course at Allen. Below is a sample received recently from Trinity Lutheran Church, Nevada, Missouri. Trinity Lutheran's Allen model S-12 was installed in 1960 and is still going strong today! "God has blessed us with both a quality organ (our Allen organ) and a most capable member to service it. The original rectifier tube lasted 45 years! We never replaced all the tubes, but those for the keys we replaced several times with new 'old stock' tubes from quality major brands, all of which were made in America. Since we have the Service Bulletin for our instrument we are able to identify problems and maintain this pleasant instrument in good working order. Praise God." |

Many churches today are turning to pianists to play the organ for worship. To help those making the transition from piano to organ, Allen Organ has produced this short video which covers some basic organ component terminology and explores the various Divisions that make up the organs' overall sound structure.
