Featuring the unique realism of Acoustic Portrait™ and the unparalleled flexibility of Stoplist Library™, Quantum™ Organs redefine the state-of-the-art and will take your organ performance to a new level.

World-renown Allen sampling is the foundation of Quantum sound, assuring faithful sound reproduction that includes the fleeting but essential characteristics occurring in the first and last milliseconds of a pipe's speech. Allen samples also recreate the natural random pipe fluctuations of sustained sounds without the artificial "looping" heard in other sampling systems. And, with the world's most extensive digital library of pipe organ sounds, Allen provides choices to satisfy every taste and need.

Allen's Quantum technology offers unprecedented control over even the smallest sound nuance, resulting in tonal realism previously not available from a pipeless organ. The result of years of research and development and an investment of millions of dollars, Quantum organs can be customized in virtually endless ways -- assuring that the sounds fit your specific style and taste. Multiple DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) work together to offer supercomputer power within the organ console.

Features

Sound Technology

  • Patented Quantum™ Technology

Patented Quantum™ technology offers unprecedented control over even the smallest sound nuance resulting in tonal realism previously not available from a pipeless organ. With years of research and development and an investment of millions of dollars, Quantum organs can be customized in virtually endless ways — assuring that the sounds fit your specific style and taste. Multiple DSPs work together to offer supercomputer power within the organ console.

  • Stoplist Library™

Each of Quantum Organs' seven stop lists can be voiced on a stop-by-stop and note-by-note basis assuring that the organ can be perfectly matched to the acoustics of any room in which it is installed, or adjusted to meet special musical needs or preferences. Each stop list also features separate and independent audio settings. The Stoplist Library includes: Classic Allen, an eclectic design favored by US 20th-century builders and championed by G. Donald Harrison; English Cathedral, a broad and majestic style developed by Henry Willis; Orchestral, an innovative blend of organ and instrumental voices; Cavaillé-Coll, named after the progenitor and master of the 19th-century French style with fiery, dominant reeds and symphonic tonal schemes; Schlicker, featuring

Neo-Baroque scaling by The Schlicker Organ Company; 20th-century revival of 17th-century North-German ideals; and Arp Schnitger, inspired by the Master German builder who brought the bright, incisive Werkprinzip style to its zenith; and Aeolian-Skinner, an American Classic tonal design characterized by firm and articulate principals, bright mixtures and French-style reeds. The Orchestral specification, perfect for blended worship, offers many popular sounds typically found in external MIDI modules such as: Strings, Piano, Brass, Woodwinds and Percussion.

  • Acoustic Portrait™ — Actual Sampled Acoustics

Acoustic Portrait begins with a sampling process using impulse responses that measure an actual room's acoustic properties. These measurements are then stored in the organ's computer memory. Through an advanced real-time mathematical process called convolution, the acoustics of the sampled room actually become an integral part of the organ's sound, producing a noticeably smoother, more natural result than synthetic reverb. Allen engineers have recorded the acoustics of cathedrals and other acoustically desirable buildings throughout the world. With advanced digital signal processors (DSPs) and low-latency convolution algorithms, Acoustic Portrait reproduces the true acoustic response of each original room with stunning realism! Each Quantum Organ features 10 different Acoustic Portraits, ranging from intimate rooms to cavernous cathedrals.

  • Real Xpression™

Allen applies convolution acoustics to faithfully recreate how expression shutters affect a pipe organ's sound. We call it Real Xpression™ and when you hear it you'll know why. It's not just a change in volume used in other digital organs, it's the same thrilling feeling you get when you hear a pipe organ really open up!

  • Reflections™ Package — Optional

The revolutionary capabilities of Quantum™ organs go far beyond reverberation found on other organs. Acoustic Portrait is the only acoustical enhancement system that actually offers sampled space. With this system, all of the nuances and reflections found naturally in any acoustical environment are duplicated with stunning realism and clarity. With the optional Reflections Package, the organ's reflected sound not only comes from the primary speakers, but also from special rear speakers that include appropriate delays.

  • Multi-Point Audio™

With this unique exclusive audio channelizing, various individual organ voices are assigned to multiple channels for spatial imaging and sound placement results that exceed those of mono or stereo systems. Multi-Point Audio provides greater tuning and equalization control, as well as flexible speaker placement options. The clean, robust power of Multi-Point Audio produces ensembles with clarity and dimension that rival the sound of actual wind-blown pipes.

  • Stop-by-Stop & Note-by-Note Voicing

Through advanced technology, Allen organs can be voiced both on a stop-by-stop and note-by-note basis, as found in pipe organs. This capability assures that the Allen Organ can be matched to the room in which it is installed, as well as specific musical needs.

  • Advanced MIDI Capabilities

With full MIDI capabilities, the Allen organ's musical versatility becomes nearly limitless.
Compatible with GM, GS as well as XG MIDI, the Allen console is a perfect controller for today's blended worship requirements.

  • Voices Changeable Via CD ROM

Allen's exclusive SoundMatrix™ technology ensures that the organ will serve the needs of any dynamic music program. The organ's sounds (stops) are stored in massive dynamic memory. These voices can then be changed, even after the organ is installed, as musical styles require. This unique capability acts as an "insurance policy" against tonal obsolescence.

  • Air Regulator™

In a pipe organ, as more stops are played, the winding fluctuates momentarily as the air pressure builds up. This results in interesting sound nuances (pitch fluctuations) that have become an important part of pipe organ sound. With Air Regulator, Allen's digital voices react in this same manner; a very sophisticated, but subtle pipe organ sound nuance.

The Allen Console

  • Hand-crafted Cathedral Overlays

The Allen console is a work of art. Built by individual craftsmen, they include lumber-core sides with hardwood veneers, as found in the finest furniture. Cathedral console overlays make a special statement about the quality built into this console.

  • Keycheek Alternatives — Optional

Built one at a time in the time-honored tradition of craftsmanship, the Allen console can be customized many ways. Keycheeks are made of solid hardwoods with various optional styles available to match the décor of the surroundings in which the organ will be installed.

The Allen Keyboard

  • Individually Adjustable and Felted Keys

The Allen keyboard is designed to allow the musician to feel the music. These keyboards are built with a level of quality that is the envy of the industry. Each key stick is constructed of wood, felted pivot points and can be individually adjusted keep them consistent over the long-haul.

  • Reed Switch Key Contacts — (or OST™ Optional)

The key contact, while unseen, is an important part of any organ. If one fails during a performance, the entire musical program can be compromised. Allen has introduced a maintenance-free system in which a sealed reed switch is engaged by magnet. Neither dust nor the environment will compromise your music program with an Allen Organ.

In addition, if you require velocity sensitive keyboards for MIDI voices, Allen's Optical Sensor Technology (OST™) is the perfect solution. With infrared technology, this contactless system self regulates itself each time the organ is turned on for dependable velocity sensitive control of MIDI voices.

  • Ivora Naturals & Wood Sharps — Optional

The Allen keyboard is designed to allow the musician to feel the music. Since Allen manufactures keyboards, its keyboard, like the Allen console, can be customized to meet the look and feel desired for each installation. Whether the choice is the optional Ivora naturals or wood sharps, Allen can meet any need.

The Allen Stop Action

  • Deluxe Mechanical Stop Action

Because Allen manufactures its own stop controls, we offer deluxe mechanical stop controls as standard features in many models where other builders charge thousands more. The Allen stop control also utilizes reed switches for contacts to ensure years of maintenance-free service.

  • Pistons — User Reconfigurable

Allen Organs include the most flexible console controls in the industry. One example is that the organ's pistons can be user programmed to customize their function to the musician's personal desire for increased flexibility. The GeniSys™ Control facilitates this customization plus so much more.

  • Piston Sequencer

Demanding musicians that play larger pipe organs have become used to a console function called the Piston Sequencer. This function enables the organist to step through all of the organ's capture combination presets in a simple and sequenced fashion. The Piston Sequencer is easily accessed on the Allen console through two piston buttons.

  • Wood Drawknobs Shanks & Stop Tablets — Optional

As with the finest pipe organs, your instrument can include the optional hardwood drawknobs and stop tablets. Choose from Maple to Walnut or even exotic Rosewood to make your console a work of art.
